Day 2 - Completion of cake and party

Well, it was harder than I thought it would be. There were even quite a few profanities and fonant flying through the air. But after it was all said and done, the cake was finished. It was not done as well as I would have liked, but like my husband said, Josh is the only one it should matter to, and he was right. Josh who told me, "My Thomas is so cool and neat!!". His eyes lit up when he saw it all finished and that was more important than all the imperfections that I found. It was my first time with marshmallow fondant, so I figure the more I use it the better it will be. I have two more birthdays this month, my daugher Aliyas and my other son Wyatts. It should be fun, as long as long as I keep the swearing and fondant throwing to a minimum.

The Party:

Was so much fun!!! Josh was thrilled with everthing he got. I have to say one thing about him, the stuff that he likes, he genuinelly likes. Nate and I never had to persuade him to like these things. So the excitement on his face was very real!!! We called Nate's parents via the web cam. They were in Florida and could not be here with us, but wanted to see Josh do his candles and open presents. They got him the weed whacker so they wanted to see his face. First we started with happy birthday and blowing candles. He got so close to the flame, it was scary. So like a good mommy I helped him blow it out. Then we decided to start the presents. Aunt Charity and Samual were first. They got him a Thomas the Train whistle, a Thomas T-shirt, and a bunch of candy. He would not put that whistle down the whole time. Next, was Uncle Nick and Aunt Shayla, Anna, and Oliver. They got him three bathtub Thomas squirters. Him and Wyatt will have a blast playing with those. Jeddo and Sitta(my mom and dad) were next. They got him a stuffed elephant, which he adores. He carries around everywhere. He even ate dinner with it at his side. One hand around the elephant and the other hand around a hot dog. They also got him a Thomas the train movie, a Thomas the Train track and a motorized Gordan train to go with it. Uncle Steve, Auntie Jackie, Isaish, and Ashlyn got him this Veggie Tales dance mat. It is really cool and the reason I know this is after the party Samual and Charity stayed and us four all played it. Now that is a workout!!! Our legs and thighs were hurting, but it was soooo fun!! My grandparents got him some clothes which were needed desperately. Nate's grandma sent money so we got him some Thomas the train sheets to go with the Thomas bespread that Nate and I got him. So now his room is decked out in Thomas the Train and an elephant. Lastly was the gift we all searched and searched for, but was finally found in Daytona Beach Florida. Papa and Nana really came through. He got his weed whacker!! He was so excited, he could not wait to try it out. He had such an awesome time. He loved everything he got. I think that it's gonna be awhile before this birthday is topped!!
